Tomorrow: Blogathon (more like a bloga-10K) for SSA Week

I’ll be blogging for the SSA tomorrow, Saturday, June 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (eastern time zone) — following in the footsteps of FreethoughtBlogs lights such as Brianne Bilyeu, Ophelia Benson, Ian Cromwell, JT Eberhard and Michaelyn Everhart, Greta Christina, Greg Laden, Daniel Fincke, Al Stefanelli, Jason Thibeault, Jen McCreight, Natalie Reed, Ed Brayton and who knows who else.

Can’t remember where I saw it, but I read an article just a few days ago that said young people were leaving religion in droves. This is a trend worth encouraging, and worth accelerating. (Considering that godder groups have had pretty much of a free hand on campus for the past, oh, thousand years or so, this is an effort long past due.)

I’ll do it by blogging, you can do it by donating to SSA.

I’m posting every half hour for those six hours. Yes, it’s a pitiful output, considering some other bloggers have committed to post every half hour for a full 24 hours … but I plead aged decrepitude. The other, younger bloggers on FtB have agreed to forgive me for falling short of their fantastic output if I stop shouting at them to get off my lawn.

In return for this dispensation, I will also try to come up with some of the thoughtful, witty blog banter for which I’m so well kn …

Oh, hell, I’m just going to throw stuff at the page and post it, hope some of you see it, and donate to this worthy cause.
