FTBers Worth Reading

A Voice of Reason’s Al Stefanelli knocks one out of the park with Scaring Your Kids Into Religious Intolerance.

He starts with this quote:

Most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches. I do not buy candy during the Halloween season. Curses are sent through the tricks and treats – Kimberly Daniels (700 Club)

That is just a fucking lie. If you EVER have doubts about what religion is, what it tolerates, how it operates, that one statement right there is a total eye-opener.

Remember how I wrote in The Fate of Broken People – Part 2 about what I called “the 180-degrees thing”? How things can seem one way, but turn out to be so far in the other direction that they become not just opposite, but anti whatever the issue is?

It is 180 degrees opposite of what it should be. If it’s something that was right with the world, it is now wrong – so wrong it doesn’t just sit there being wrong, it moves at light speed in the direction of wrong, so that it becomes not just un-right, but anti-right.

This is one of the most fantastic realizations of that principle. A super-religious person lying out her ass. Totally just making shit up.

About something that it isn’t even worth lying about. Stupid, vicious, lying … crap, I can’t even find words to describe how vile I think this person is.

And the funny thing is, she’s too much even for the Christian site where her words are posted. The editor of the site  backs away from her supreme weirdness by prefacing her lengthy and fantastic article with this:

We realize that the article by Kimberly Daniels is controversial. It reflects her own personal views—based on her many years of ministering to people involved in the occult.

Uh, yeah.
